Online Discussion:
Uniform Civil Code
The Centre for Family Law is delighted to announce that a successful online session was conducted on “Personal Law Reforms and the Uniform Civil Code: Assessing Implications Amid Contemporary Socio-Political Undercurrents” on February 23, 2024.

Distinguished Professor Anju Tyagi, a faculty member at National Law University, Delhi, was the esteemed guest speaker for this virtual session. Her insightful presentation illuminated the complexities of the Uniform Code of Civil Procedure (UCC), effectively bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications.
The discussion encompassed a wide range of topics, including the intricacies of marriage, divorce, inheritance, and personal laws. We examined relevant precedents, challenged conventional assumptions, and explored the potential for establishing a unified and harmonious legal framework.
The vibrant student community of National Law University, Jodhpur, actively participated in the virtual session, posing insightful questions, sharing their perspectives, and demonstrating their keen interest in the legal discourse.

Case Discussion:
Same Sex Marriage Judgment
The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India delivered its verdict on same-sex marriage in the case of Supriyo v. Union of India. This judgement holds a pivotal role for LGBTQ+ rights in India.
In light of this momentous development, the Centre for Family Law organized a case discussion on same-sex marriage judgement on 21st October, 2023.

Workshop on Awareness regarding Child Marriages in Rajasthan
The Centre for Family Law is delighted to announce that a successful workshop was conducted on “Workshop on Awareness regarding Child Marriage in Rajasthan” on April 13, 2024.
Dr. Kriti Bharti, an Indian Rehabilitation psychologist and the first annuler of child marriage in the country, along with Mr. Nihal Chand (ADJ) Secretary, DLSA Jodhpur were the esteemed speakers for the workshop.

The workshop saw participation from the non-teaching staff of not just NLU Jodhpur, but also IIT Jodhpur and FDDI Jodhpur.
